Every year, as part of the Foundation’s goal to develop self-sufficient schools, two schools receive the Commercial Baking Training conducted by the Philippine Foremost Milling Corporation (PFMC). UFI organizes an intensive training for teachers and parents and supplies the basic equipment and ingredients needed to start commercial baking in the schools. In addition, the Foundation organizes entrepreneurial and livelihood seminars so that the schools, teachers, and parents can successfully market the products they make. PFMC and UFI provides technical support and monitors these activities.
UFI organizes yearly trainings for the teachers in our adopted schools. To develop responsible and well-educated children, teachers should be continually up-skilled and supported in providing the best possible learning environment. UFI complements the programs already provided by the Department of Education.
As a child-oriented foundation, we ensure that our teachers are well equipped to handle children in the classroom.
UFI’s high school- and tertiary-level beneficiaries take part in formation sessions focusing on themes, such as getting to know one’s self, team building, communication and values. The formation sessions aim to inspire and empower the students to become better leaders, not only within their respective schools but also at home and within their communities.
For the tertiary-level scholars, the sessions will hopefully inspire them to become future leaders within the La Filipina Uy Gongco Group of Companies.
